Coloring

I picked up this table and chairs from a friend and Violet loves it. She likes to sit at it and eat her snacks, read her books, and this morning she was coloring. Such a good little student.

Watching Backyardigans

The embarrassing part here is not that I'm using cartoons to entertain Violet while I make dinner, or that she's sitting right under the TV. The embarrassing part is how old-school our TV is!

Milestone: First color

By (almost) 17 months Violet has quite a vocabulary (animals - "bees"=bee, foods - "eeze"=cheese, objects - "ah-pluh"=airplane), so we have started working on colors. It should not be a surprise to anyone that Violet's first color is "purple."

Domainia

Fighting severe cabin fever and looking for a way to beat the heat this afternoon, we headed to The Domain for frozen yogurt. We found frozen yogurt and so much more. Who knew the outdoor mall could be so fun!?!

Violet played in the fountain...

and made friends with a turtle...

And blended in with the locals.
