Violet's Playroom

Violet has a new playroom with a groovy new foam floor. And we have our living room back. It's a win-win.

Big Girl Cup

I decided (after reading my mom bible, "What to Expect", last night) that it is time to start transitioning Violet from a bottle to a cup. Today is the first day. I'll let you know how it goes...

I should add too that our goal is 100% cup by her first birthday. 'Cause washing bottles sucks!

On the verge

Today I thought Violet might like to stand up and look out the window, so I put her up on her feet and she held on to the window sill and stood looking out at the garden for a while. Then, she kept crawling back to the window and trying to pull herself up.

She was close to being able to do it. But for now she still needs me.

Happy New Year!

It's 2010 and hard to believe another year has past. 2009 will go down as the greatest, strangest, busiest, year full of firsts EVER!

To celebrate Violet's first New Years Eve we went downtown to First Night Austin, a family-friendly event with music and food and parades. Seemed like a good idea until we got there and the cold front blew in. So all in all we watched a little bit of an awful George Harrison tribute band, ate some festival food, and then scrambled inside to warm up with a warm beverage. Was the parade any good? We missed it.
