Nine and a half hours

Last night we put Violet to bed at 9:30pm and didn't hear from her again until 7am. For those of you counting on your fingers, that was a long ass time. Sah-weet!

  1. That's great! Just watch your milk supply if you are not getting up to pump. I try to get up every other night. Between the hours of 1 AM and 6 AM, our bodies produce prolactin, the hormone that tells us to produce more milk. Some women can go 10 hours without nursing and it is no problem, but others will start to lose their supply. So just be careful, especially if you want to breast feed for awhile. My friend Ashley almost lost all her milk when her baby started sleeping 12 hours at a time, and since she did not want to do formula, she had to go on this rigorous pumping and nursing schedule and now she has to wake her baby in the middle of the night to nurse her. Link sleeps 12 hours a night. I always pump before I go to bed at 10:30 and then I try to drag myself out of bed to pump in the middle of the night.
