4 Month Check up

Violet had her 4 month wellness visit at the pediatrician today. She "passed" in that she is hitting all her milestones (early even) and growing like a weed. She now weighs 14 lbs 1 oz; she jumped from the 50th percentile in weight to the 75th!!! Poor thing had to have 4 shots today, two in each thigh and she was MAD, but got over it quickly and fell asleep as soon as we got in the car.

She continues to be a dream child who rarely cries (it's typically a sign that she is sleepy), and likes her beauty rest (it's obviously working :)). We couldn't ask for more.

We're looking forward to our trip to the coast this weekend and Violet's first chance to put her toes in the sand. I'll post pictures when we get back. Happy 4th of July everyone!

Jumbo

We have been told that someone saw Violet's commercial on the jumbotron at Dell Diamond. Cool!

Well she would be if she was born on her due date.

Father's Day

I Heart Her

Greener Pastures

Jeff, Violet and I went to brunch a few weeks ago at Green Pastures. The place where we got married, and where I had a baby shower. I guess you can say it's kind of a special place for us. We took this picture at the gazebo where we took our vows.

June 16 Update

Seems like forever since I've posted to the blog. And it's not a coincidence that I haven't posted regularly since I've been back at work. I'm adjusting to my working mom schedule and with the exception of 1 minor hiccup ("I thought YOU were going home to relieve the nanny!") things are going well.

For me it's about changing my fast-track career mindset to a more realistic one that involves being a great wife, mother and employee...and not always all at the same time.

Violet continues to do great and is still a champion sleeper. Our biggest challenge is trying to get enough feedings in during the day since she likes to sleep so long at night. Not a bad problem to have. We must be doing alright though because she continues to be chubby and delicious!!

We are really looking forward to Violet's 4 month check up later this month. It's always fun to hear what new things we can look forward to.

Finally, an update to the A Star Is Born post: A friend texted to say she saw Violet's commercial on TV last night!

Hi ho hi ho it's off to work I go

Well out little Violet is 14 weeks old today. It sure went fast, but I had to return to work this week. I'm now a working mom. Good news is that the transition hasn't been as hard as I expected. A lot of that has to do with the fact that Violet and I made the absolute most of my maternity leave. After a bumpy start, we were off and running (literally) and didn't let grass grow under our feet. Another reason is that Jeff and I found a wonderfully loving nanny (Olivia) to watch Violet during the day when we are at work. Olivia is a favorite of Jagger's too since she takes him along to the park every day. Finally, I have a fantastic employer who has agreed to let me work a 30-hour work week.

We're very blessed and adjusting to our new normal.
